SUMMER
In summer children explore themes of nature science, Chinese cooking, and art. They play indoor and outdoor games and explore local museums, Central Park, and the UWS community. All of this while practicing and building their Chinese speaking, reading, and writing skills. This program is 100% Immersion and is designed to engage all of the senses, combining learning, vocalizing, and movement.
AFTER SCHOOL
During Mandarin After School children play fun and engaging games designed to increase language output. They work on art and cultural projects, learn chants, and practice reading and writing in Chinese. This program is 100% Immersion and is designed to engage all of the senses, combining learning, vocalizing, and movement.
We accept young children in our After School and Summer programs who have already been exposed to Mandarin at home or in school.

Morningside Immersion PlayCare & School
We have been immersing young children in the Mandarin and Spanish languages for 11 years. Morningside Immersion PlayCare was founded in 2015 by Dr. Gail Foster an educator and research scholar. It was established to tap the linguistic genius of the young brain and build on the latest neuroscience in language acquisition.
Now, located on the Upper West Side of New York City, we are a small niche school serving children ages 6 months to 8 years and families who cherish multilingualism and a tight-knit community.
We are a 95% Mandarin and Spanish immersion program. Morningside PlayCare’s distinguishes itself by its play-based, nature-based, and resiliency-oriented curriculum – and being one of the few programs that immerse children in Spanish and Mandarin simultaneously. Our emphasis on nature exploration and organic living is a match for families who want their children to be grounded in earth-based values and also prepared to build relationships across cultures.
REGISTRATION STEPS
Summer Camp and After School Registration Process
2 – Schedule a visit and language assessment playdate for you and your child.
3 – Submit the $50 registration fee that is credited to tuition if your child enrolls.
4 – Attend the playdate with your child.
5 – Confirm your choice of tuition payment plans (one, two, or three installments).
6 – Complete all other registration forms prior to the first day.

TUITION POLICY
The tuitions for each program and session are listed below.
Registration Fee:
$50. This fee is non-refundable. However, it is credited to tuition if your child enrolls.
Extended Day Tuition:
$20 per hour, per day. MPC closes at 5:30pm.
Lunch:
Summer program includes school lunch. After School program children bring their own healthy snacks.
Refund Policy:
- Full refund before March. 1
- 70% refund before March 15
- 50% refund before April 1
- 25% refund before April 30
- No refunds on or after May 1
*We do not offer a refund/credit for unattended classes. There are no sessions on holidays.
Program Hours:
Our Summer Mandarin Program is 8:30am – 1:00pm.
Our After School Program is 3:00pm – 5:00pm.
Our Extended Day hours are until 5:30pm.
